The Old Boys’ Association (OBA) of Bandaranayake College, Gampaha, has proudly partnered with People’s Bank to launch the exclusive Bandaranayake College Affinity Credit Card, further strengthening the ties between the college and its distinguished alumni. The official launch event was held at the People’s Bank Head Office in Colombo 02, marking a significant milestone in the college’s development journey.
The event was graced by several notable individuals, including Mr. Kasun Gunarathne, Principal of Bandaranayake College and President of the OBA;Air Chief Marshal (Retired) Udeni Rajapaksa, a highly respected alumnus;and Mr. Sachthra Praba, Executive Secretary of the OBA. Their presence underscored the strength, unity, and ongoing influence of the Bandaranayake College community.
From People’s Bank, the initiative received strong support from Mr. Clive Fonseka, CEO/General Manager, along with senior officials from the Cards Division, including Ms. Nilmini Premalal, Mr. Jayanath Dias, Mr. Aruna Danthanayaka, and Ms. Chalani Senanayake.
The Bandaranayake College Affinity Card is designed exclusively for OBA members and offers a range of benefits, including exclusive discounts, flexible instalment plans, and year-round promotional offers. More importantly, 50% of the annual credit card payment will be directed towards supporting key development projects at the college, making it not just a financial tool, but a meaningful contribution to the school’s future.
Any Old Boy of Bandaranayake College who is a registered OBA member can apply for the affinity card by submitting the following documents to any branch of People’s Bank:
- A completed credit card application form
- Two certified copies of recent salary sheets
- A confirmation letter from the OBA
- A copy of their National Identity Card (NIC)
The occasion was further enriched by the participation of several distinguished members of the OBA, including Mr. Janaka Weerasuriya, Executive Committee Member of the OBA and Global QHES Manager at Jiffy Products International, who led the project through the OBA’s Development Committee.
In addition to the above, Mr. Eranda Adhikari, Vice President of the OBA and Vice President – Data & AI at H One (Dialog Group);Mr. Jagath Rohana, Treasurer of the OBA;Mr. Sasanka Rathnaweera, Chief Auditor of the OBA;and Mr. Hashan Thilakarathna, President of the Engineering Alumni Association of Bandaranayake College, also joined the session.
This Affinity Card serves as a symbol of pride and unity for Bandaranayake College alumni and demonstrates how past students continue to contribute meaningfully to the legacy of their alma mater.
