Bandaranayake College, Gampaha Honors Outstanding Students of 2024 O/L and A/L Examinations


Bandaranayake College, Gampaha celebrated the remarkable achievements of its students in the 2024 Ordinary Level (O/L) and Advanced Level (A/L) examinations. A total of 225 students achieved A9 results in the O/L exams, while 135 students earned A3 results in the A/L exams, demonstrating exceptional academic excellence. Notably, 66 students in the Physical Science stream achieved A3 in the A/L examination, marking an outstanding accomplishment for the institution.

The awards ceremony recognized the top-performing students and honored their dedication and hard work throughout the year. Distinguished guests included Acting Principal Mr. Kusuman Ranasinghe, Deputy Principal Bombuwala Kalyanawansha Thero, Deputy Principal Ms. Ajantha Wijayanthi, heads of A/L subject streams, teachers who guided students through the O/L and A/L exams, and representatives of the Old Students’ Association.

Special awards were presented by the Old Students’ Association to students who excelled nationally in the Physical Science and Engineering Technology streams. Five exceptional achievers were recognized, achieving Island ranks 1, 3, and 5 in the Physical Science stream and Island ranks 6 and 8 in the Engineering Technology stream, each receiving a laptop computer as a token of appreciation. In addition, medals and certificates of merit were awarded to all outstanding students in both the O/L and A/L examinations, celebrating their accomplishments and inspiring the next generation of Nayakenz students.

The ceremony highlighted Bandaranayake College’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence and providing students with the recognition and support they deserve, continuing a proud tradition of achievement and leadership.
