• Hosting the landmark X-Ban 2024 educational exhibition with five strategic themes to shape the next five years.
• Renovating the iconic Bandaranayake Hall and laying the foundation for the Main Hall restoration.
• Initiating grand plans for prize giving and colours night at BMICH, and music/dance performances at Nelum Pokuna.
• Launching a visionary IT lab project with 400 computers, revolutionizing digital learning.
• Organizing an Outbound Training (OBT) program for academic staff to foster unity and innovation.
• Completing multiple critical infrastructure projects to enhance the school’s facilities.
• Honouring Air Force Chief Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, a distinguished Nayaken.
• Hosting the Annual Sports Meet with exceptional grandeur.

Mr. Gunarathna’s ability to unite staff, students, and the alumni, bolstered by the steadfast support of the Old Boys’ Association, was a hallmark of his leadership.

With his recent appointment as Deputy Director of Education at the Ministry of Education, he now steps into a national role where his experience and vision will continue to make an impact.
